Diana Summerford has always had a passion for dance. She started assistant teaching Ballet and Jazz to pre-teen girls, while pursuing a BA in Communications. It was through dance that she found the Pilates method. She saw the benefits of how the Pilates exercises helped ease her consistent lower back pain. Diana obtained her Mat Pilates Certification in 2004. In 2005, she moved to St. Louis, MO to pursue a MA in Communications, where she began teaching Pilates at Bally Total Fitness and at St. Louis Community College, as a PE Credit Course. Diana moved back to Texas in 2006, and continued teaching Pilates at LA Fitness and the Four Seasons, Las Colinas, Texas. In 2008, she obtained her Level II Mat Certification.
In 2009, Diana moved to Tucson, Arizona. She has been enjoying Pilates at Animas for the past seven years and had the honor of learning from second generation, Pilates Instructor, Becca Franks. Through Becca, she obtained her full Pilates Certification including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Chair, and is excited to be teaching once again. Pilates has been a major part of Diana’s life for almost 20 years now and she loves to share her passion for the Pilates Method and how it can benefit everyone. She is married and has two children.
